The TIJD Foundation was set up by Louis Le Roy and his wife Inge from Oranjewoud and is a result of his work on the eco-cathedral in Mildam. It had become necessary to set up the Foundation to secure the continuity of the project. Also, in the course of time, quite a few people turned out to have been inspired by the project. Hence, some degree of organisation was required. Another project the Foundation will start is the restoration of the ‘Kennedylaan-garden’ in the centre of Heerenveen.
Objective
In the charter of foundation the following points are mentioned:
The promotion of insight and knowledge of the notion of ‘time’ as a condition for the creative development of cooperation between natural and creative human processes in space and time.
The adoption and support of activities and projects developed in space and time.
The existence of a Centre of Knowledge in particular concerning concepts like ‘time’ and ‘complexity’.
Realisation
To realise these aims the Foundation will start to collaborate with various persons and organisations. At this moment this is among others the case with municipality of Heerenveen, but there are contacts with organisation in France and Germany. Possibilities to start similar projects in other places are being investigated. The Foundation wishes to advise and monitor these projects, especially in the beginning. The Foundation will also be a point of address for the media and will approach the media actively in order to gain more publicity.
Fields of interest
A number of concrete examples of processes in space and time will be explained through examples from these points of interest.
Transfer of Knowledge The Foundation wishes to occupy itself with spreading the ideas that lie at the basis of the Foundation. She will do that by means of her own library, publications, working groups, courses, seminars and a annual symposium on or around October 31st and all other proper means within her reach. Knowledgeable people from society may be invited. (The Foundation may offer facilities for research.) Knowledge will, however, especially be offered by from the Foundation: the permanent interaction with scientific development important for the aims and the integration of ICT-possibilities is a high-priority objective.
Politics None of the remaining activities can be imagined without considering politics and political decision-making on the various levels. The Foundation will not hesitate to influence political view points important to her aims. The board must therefore maintain contacts with relevant groups.
Art The Foundation supports activities of artistic nature that may add to the spread of her aims. She is also active in starting and stimulating activities that fit within that framework. There are no limitations concerning the forms of the art, but they must conform to the criteria made by the board per situation. E.g. criteria that enhance methodical development.
Human Behavior The above paragraphs deal with social behaviour, both passive and active, both in relation to the natural and the physical surroundings, both formal and informal. It is up to the Foundation to pronounce upon this within the interests of the above domains and to make propositions concerning the influencing of behaviour as far as these concur with the policy formulated by the board.
Environmental planning The Foundation wants to play an active part in the protection and continuation of projects in Time and Space that are placed under her supervision by statute. (the so-called eco-cathedral-projects in the Kennedylaan-garden in Heerenveen and the eco-cathedral in Mildam.)Therefore it will communicate actively with other interested parties. Moreover the Foundation is prepared to advise organisations on various policy levels both in the private and government sectors from her knowledge without them asking.
Environment Following its aims the Foundation will play an active part in the creative management of the smaller and bigger environment. It will therefore maintain contacts with authorities bearing either responsibility regarding content or government.
